On Friday 30 September 2011, the
Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign
Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development
Cooperation and the Egmont Institute
convened a half day conference entitled
“Short circuit in Belgium? Towards stable
and affordable electricity for all
consumers in Belgium”. The gathering
aimed at assessing the current state of
affairs in the country’s path towards the
ideal energy mix, allowing it to meet its
international commitments with regard
to market liberalization and the
environment while at the same time
securing a fertile business climate.
